Yes there about 1880) - saw thence -\'the Tuscan tower on the Red pier, the tree at the Peveril corner, the back of Sand Street, at Saana (?) & beyond bushes and trees of the country.\' Well, the tree is in the picture, but the bole, some 8" through, had been sawn off sometime. \'Yet there is hope of a tree if it be cut down\' - and it is still there.
