The angel in the panel is of an unusually well-fed and robust type, and wearing a sort of divided shirt at that period! The house on the corner, right, was in 1811, occupied by Mr Clucas \'the druggist\'; and Mr Phillip Caine had a look inside it before the demolishers got to work. He found the lower front room to be panelled. This was a good locality in those days. Dr Bible, at that period, lived in the house next door. Mr Clucas the \'Druggist\' (AWM \'Douglas 100 years ago\' Sun. 1904), would practice as an Apocethary in those days. The panelled room would be his surgery doubtless; and on the landing (1st) Mr. P W Caine notes in the angle of the wall a wash basin of a type that would suggest it might have been at one time the piscina of a church chancel. See if noted, Mr. Caines\' conversation with a descendant of the said Clucas. Mrs. ? who gave Mr. Caine her pedigree back to \'the druggist\', and coupled with the Clucas family of Santon whose name was taken by the present Speaker of the House of Keys Mr. G H Clucas - nee Clarke."); by Manx National Heritage .
