The slates on the roof, although old, are of fine size and in good condition. On extreme R. note, where the ground has been cut to a lower level, (sketch), the top of a barrel-arched cellar under the last house in that part of Durie Lane. In the E. wall of that cellar there were two walled up exits. See earlier note. The breakers simply filled the cellars with the super-stone-? in nearly every instance."
