PCT4298098 Saint Philomene (291-304), virgin and martyrdom of the Catholic Church, 19th century (engraving); (add.info.: she was the object of worship from 1805 to 1961, veneration of her remains found in 1802 in the catacombs of Priscilla, Rome (Italy). An inscription ??Filumena??(engraved on one of the three slabs covering the body and transcribed into Philomene) was taken for the name of the buried person. Veneree by the Holy Cure of Ars, however, it was removed from the calendar in 1961 by the Sacred Congregation of Rites because its hagiographic existence is the subject of controversies); by Patrice Cartier.
