Kidney stained with Mallory?檚 trichrome, light micrograph. Mallory's trichrome produces beautiful images of the renal convoluted tubules. Three proximal convoluted tubules are at centre, and clearly show the brush border and the basement membrane surrounding the tubules, both stained with Mallory's aniline blue method. Either side of these tubules are distal convoluted tubules, with brush borders, and smaller cells with highly developed basal infoldings.
