1080253 Silk Triangles Coverlet, by the Dennis Cann Family, 1840-60 (cotton) by English School, (19th century); 100x128 cm; Quilt Museum and Gallery, York; (add.info.: This coverlet is made from diamonds of multicoloured and patterned printed cottons, with an outside border of triangles and corner star blocks. It is thought to have been made by one of Mary Dennis Cann\'s daughters, and the design is similar to that of the Mariner\'s Compass, which was made by Mary. However the stitching is not quite as accurate, and the design does not incorporate a complicated central motif, so it has been suggested that this is the work of one of the daughters rather than Mary herself. ); 穢 Quilt Museum and Gallery ; 穢 The Quilters\' Guild of the British Isles; English, out of copyright.
