Sultan Said bin Taimur Bin Faisal arriving in Washington DC, USA, 1938, to repay a visit made by Edmund Roberts (1832), who was appointed by President Andrew Jackson to negotiate treaties with small nations of the Orient, with Secretary of State Cordell Hull. Said bin Taimur (13 August 1910 19 October 1972) (Arabic: ???? ?? ??????) was the sultan of Muscat and Oman (the country later renamed to Oman) from 10 February 1932 until his overthrow on 23 July 1970.
