Adrenal gland medulla, light micrograph. The cells of the adrenal medulla are arranged in thick cords made up of light cells (A or adrenaline cells), among which are darker and scarcer cells (NA or noradrenaline cells). Between the cords are sinusoid capillaries of wide lumen. 0.5 micrometre thick semithin section of plastic-embedded material stained with toluidine blue.
