Human adrenal gland medulla, light micrograph. When stained with haematoxylin and eosin, unlike the cortex, the adrenal medulla has clearer, larger cells, organized in thick cords. Between the cords there are spaces with small dense nuclei that are the endothelial cells of the abundant vessels in this area.
