(b/c, pencil & w/c on card) by Parker, Henry Perlee (1795-1873); 19.6x26.1 cm; Laing Art Gallery, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK; (add.info.: Charles Brandling (1769-1826) of Gosforth, Newcastle, was a wealthy local land and coal owner. He was the Member of Parliament for Newcastle from 1798 to 1812 and for Northumberland from 1820 to 1826. He was also one of Parker\'s earliest Tyneside patrons, buying his popular oil painting \'Principal Eccentric Characters of Newcastle\' (about 1818, now in a private collection). Brandling went on to introduce the artist to a new circle of patrons from the North East and Yorkshire.
