She married Edward Littleton, Member of Parliament for Stafford. A pearl drop decoration sets off the fashionable simplicity of Mrs Littleton\'s dress. The drawing folder in her hand was probably included to show that she was artistically skilled. The folder seems to jut out from the edge of the oval surround to the image.
