Bronze head of a bearded man with inlaid eyes, found in the wreck of a Roman cargo ship off the island of Antikythera. His unkempt appearance recalls that of a Cynic philosopher, possibly the Athenian, Antisthenes (450 - 365 BC), the teacher of Diogenes.
