Copper (II) chloride (CuCl2) in a solution of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) forming a precipitate of copper (II) hydroxide [Cu(OH)2] in a solution of sodium chloride (NaCl). Sodium hydroxide and copper (II) chloride are salts that are soluble in water, but that form a solid precipitate immediately if they meet. Copper (II) hydroxide is insoluble in water, a property of a precipitate.
