Editorial use only PICO transmission electron microscope (TEM). PICO is one of only two electron microscopes in the world that compensate for the colour error of the lenses. PICO has a resolving power of 50 picometres and can measure atomic distances and atomic displacements with an accuracy of just one picometre. Photographed at The Ernst Ruska-Centre for Microscopy and Spectroscopy with Electrons (ER-C), Julich Research Centre, Germany.
