Computed tomography (CT) scan of a vertebral body stenting (VBS) procedure used to treat a horizontal fracture of the L2 vertebra in a 30 year old patient. One of two expandable stents (centre) can be seen. The stents were used for restoring the height of the vertebra and initially stabilising it. After, a vertebroplasty was carried out by filling the fractured vertebral body with acrylic cement to further stabilise and strengthen the vertebra.
