Pistachios growing at Eagle Ranch, Alamogordo, New Mexico, USA which sells the nuts under the Heart of the Desert brand. As a desert plant, pistachios need much less water than pecans, which are also extensively grown in the New Mexico desert. The orchard is irrigated every few days by drip irrigation with the small black hoses.
