Light micrograph of the golden alga Dinobryon sp. Dinobryon forms large colonies, the single cells are surrounded by a vase-shaped lorica. The cells each have two flagella of different lengths. The cells contain two golden brown plastids of different sizes, one with a red eyespot. The colonies move freely in the water column.. Microscopic contrast method : Differential interference contrast. Magnification 800x at a print width of 10 cm.
