Peter and Paul Fortress is the original citadel of St. Petersburg, Russia, at first designed as a military construction, later became an infamous political prison. Located on the Neva island, the Petropavlovskaya fortress is just one part of a huge buildings system. As seen from afar, there is a bell tower with a high spire. Growing precisely from each other bell tower levels united in one monolith but a dynamic whole. At the same time, the budling looks dry and concise as its typical for Early Peters Baroque. Author: D.
