Light micrograph section through human tissue showing a spindle cell lipoma (SCL), which is a benign slow-growing tumour arising most frequently in the subcutaneous tissue of the upper back, posterior neck and shoulders. This tumour is an uncommon variant of a lipoma and is characterised by mature adipocytes and small uniform spindle cells. The lesion usually presents in males between the age 40 to 60.
