Reconstruction of an Upper Palaeolithic man using his tools at the Aurignacian Caverne du Pont d'Arc, France. The Caverne du Pont d'Arc is a replica of the Chauvet Cave, Ardeche, France, which contains some of the best-preserved Palaeolithic (stone age) figurative cave paintings in the world. These paintings are thought to be around 36,000 years old.
