Prasugrel anti-clotting drug packaging. This platelet inhibitor is used to prevent abnormal blood clotting (thrombus formation) in patients with acute coronary syndrome and who have have had certain types of heart attacks. It is used while these patients undergo angioplasty and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Prasugrel is marketed under the brand name Efient by the Eli Lilly pharmaceutical company.
