Muscovite is the main member of the micaceous mineral group, occurring frequently in plutonic and metamorphic rocks, often giving a sparkle to granites and gneisses. It characteristically forms tiny stacks of thin transparent wafers. This sample shows it interspersed with a white feldspar mineral, probably albite, having an acicular crystalline habitat. Sample width is 210 mm, provenance unknown.
