Radiologist using ultrasound to scan a patient's foot prior to an ultrasound guided steroid injection to treat Morton's neuroma. Morton's neuroma is a benign (non-cancerous) tumour of the plantar nerve in the foot that can cause pain and numbness. Steroids are anti-inflammatory drugs used to treat a range of musculoskeletal disorders and diseases. Using ultrasound to guide the placement of the injection increases accuracy and improves the outcomes for the patient.
