Sharovipteryx mirabilis prehistoric gliding reptile, illustration. S. mirabilis lived around 225 million years ago, during the middle-late Triassic period, in what is now Kyrgyzstan, and is thought to have been capable of gliding over short distances. It is the only glider with a membrane surrounding the pelvis instead of the pectoral girdle.
