Elisabeth Daynes (born 1960), French sculptor, working on a reconstruction of a Neanderthal (Homo neanderthalensis) skull based on a skeleton found at La Ferrassie, France. Daynes is renowned for her reconstructions of early humans. She works closely with scientists to produce life-like and life sized sculptures, often with only bones as her sole reference points. Her work is displayed in numerous museums around the world.
