Monument to the crew of the schooner Ancud dedicated to the commemoration of the takeover of the Strait of Magellan by Chile on September 21; 1843. This large sculpture (6 meters high) was made of cement and iron by Guillermo Merino Pedrero. The work symbolizes the journey of the twenty-three expeditions of the schooner Ancud who dropped anchor in Puerto Hambre on September 21; 1843. On the bow of the schooner Ancud are represented some members of the expedition; including Captain Juan Williams Wilson. Col髇 con Costanera del Estrecho Avenue. Punta Arenas city.
