Ireland; Co. Donegal; Sheephaven Bay: Doe Castle (16th century); signature discovery point at Wild Atlantic Way (WAW). Doe Castle; gaelic Caisle醤 na dTuath; was built in 16th century and a stronghold of the Clan Suibhne (Clan Sweeney) and has architectural parallels to the Scottish tower house. The castle is home to an irish version of the Romeo & Juliet saga. The Mac Suibhne na d'Tuath (Mac Sweeney Doe) derived of one of the oldest Irish clans. The clan Sweeney was of Scottish origin.
