'Going To Service By The "Dark Entry": 'Colonial and Indian Visitors at Canterbury', 1886. 'A large party of Colonists and Indians connected with the Colinderies visited Canterbury [in Kent] on July 30th'. 'Colinderies' was an acronym for the Colonial and Indian Exhibition, organised under the patronage of the Prince of Wales, at South Kensington in 1886. The 'Dark Entry' is passage which runs beneath the building known as the Prior's Lodging, joining the Green Court and the cathedral buildings. It is said to be haunted.
