'Menin Gate Memorial to the Unknown Soldiers of the British Armies', Ypres, Belgium, c1927. The Menin Gate, designed by Sir Reginald Blomfield, was unveiled on 24 July 1927 as a memorial to the British and Commonwealth soldiers killed in the Ypres Salient of World War I, and whose graves are unknown.
