'He cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth', 19th century. Biblical scene, from John 11: 43: 'And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. The man who had been dead came out with his hands and feet bound in strips of linen, and his face wrapped in a headcloth. "Unwrap him and let him go", Jesus told them'. Jesus performs a miracle by resurrecting the dead Lazarus. Engraving after 'The Raising of Lazarus' by Rembrandt, c1632.
