The Athenians want to execute Socrates and his friends know that. Socrates has done no wrong and didn't break the laws but the popular jury finds Socrates guilty of the crimes he was charged with and so he must die. Socrates does not want to harm the Laws by doing wrong to them. So; he accepts the judgement and the death sentence; arguing that "Two wrongs do not make a right! Do not return a wrong for a wrong.
