The sinking of the SS 'Arabic', First World War, 19 August 1915, (c1920). 'Germany's Submarine War: the torpedoing of the outward-bound White Star Liner 'Arabic' off the Irish coast'. The British-registered passenger ship 'Arabic', bound for the United States, was torpedoed by a German U-boat and sank within 10 minutes, killing 44 passengers and crew.
