Moist rocks covered with a colony of seaweed (Trentepohlia aurea). Contrary to what its color might suggest, Trentepohlia aurea is a kind of green filamentous algae. The orange color is due to the accumulation in the algal cells of carotenoid pigments masking the green color of the chlorophylls. Haute Savoie, France
