Gamma-ray burst 110328A, Chandra X-ray image. GRB 110328A was observed on 4 April 2011 with NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory (CXO). This four-hour exposure shows the centre of the X-ray source corresponding to the centre of the host galaxy (red cross) as imaged by the Hubble Space Telescope. Usually, gamma-ray bursts mark the destruction of a massive star by a black hole in a galactic centre, the radiation bursts usually last no more than a few hours. This GRB was still periodically active over a week later. This GRB is locationed in the constellation of Draco, around 3.8 billion light years away.
