The fossilized branch of a fan palm (Sabalites sp.) is exposed on a slab of limestone from the Eocene epoch in the Green River formation Wyoming, USA, and approximately 50 million years old. Also exposed on this slab is the fossil of a small fish, Diplomystus dentatus. Actual height of the palm branch is 950 mm.
