A top down view of the setaceous hebrew character (Xestia c-nigrum) resting on a branch in a garden habitat. The flight period is May to September with a double brood each year. This species is a member of the noctuidae family and is found throughout Europe and the paleartic ecozone. The larval food plants include Nettles. Photographed in Somerset, UK, in August.
