Last scene of West's "Lodoiska, or the Captive Princess" 1824, (1948). The final scene from a production of "Lodo?ska", an opera by Luigi Cherubini. Dourlinsky's castle is blown up, and the heroine Lodoiska is rescued. The spectacular on-stage pyrotechnics helped to make the opera a hit in Paris.
