'Officers Killed in the Zulu War', 1879. Portraits of British soldiers killed fighing the Zulu army in South Africa: Captain G Williams, Frontier Light Horse; Captain D B Moriarty, 80th Regiment; Lieutenant J. Pool, Transvaal Border Horse. Captain David Barry Moriarty commanded H Company of the 80th Staffordshire Regiment at the Intombi River disaster on 12th March 1879. The company was attacked by Zulus, and Moriarty and 80 men were killed. From the "Illustrated London News", 31 May 1879.
