Green emerald damselfy (Lestes viridis) male posed at the end of a branch at the edge of a pond in a marsh, in summer, Picardy, France. Species on the IUCN Global Red List in the LC category. The female of Green Leste has the peculiarity of laying in the trees and shrubs of the wetlands by cutting the bark of the branches to deposit her eggs in the living wood.
