Ardconnel Terrace, Oban, Argyllshire, Scotland showing the McCaig Tower. Situated on the west coast of Scotland and built of Bonawe granite between 1897 and 1902, it was commissioned by a wealthy Victorian banker, John Stuart McCaig, as a lasting monument to his family. It is a circular structure, reminiscent of the Colosseum in Rome.
