Reconstruction drawing by Alan Sorrell of the city of Leicester's Roman forum in Roman times. The Roman remains excavated by Kathleen Kenyon in 1936, beside the Roman-era Jewry Wall in Leicester, were initially thought to be a Roman forum, with the Jewry Wall part of a basilica. However, later excavations showed that the site was probably a bath complex and the Jewry Wall part of that. The Illustrated London News in 1937 shows the restoration as the forum and basilica.
