The innermost coffin of Pharao Tutankhamun (reigned 1332?1323 BC), as discovered by Howard Carter among others in 1922 in the Valley of Kings, belongs to the most widely known set of treasures of Ancient Egypt. It is made almost entirely out of solid gold and withheld the mummy of the king.
