Hogarth's political print for The Times depicts King George III as a fireman quelling the fires arising from the Seven Years War with France. This print was unusual for its time in terms of its strong support of the King and Prime Minister Bute. The majority of English politicians were highly critical of the King's decision to end England's involvement in the war, and had to be bribed to approve the Paris Peace Treaty
