At the toy-makers: a glimpse at Mr Aldin's works at Bedford Park. Members of the Chiswick Art Worker's Guild busily manufacturing Mr Aldin's toys. Toy rockers, handmade by artisans to the specifications of the well-known illustrator Cecil Aldin. The rockers were sold at Liberty, The Woodbury Gallery on Bond Street and Story's in Kensington. While Aldin designed the toys (along with nursery friezes and wallpapers, embroidery on clothes and ), his friend and neighbour in Bedford Park, Charles Ingham, oversaw the manufacturing and distribution. The profits from the toys Aldin told a reporter he was putting away for his children, Dudley and Gwendoline. Dudley was killed during the First World War.
