Comprising 1,000 tons of granite and Portland stone, Tower Bridge, London is one of the capitals most famous landmarks. At the time this photograhic feature was taken, the brige was still operated by steam power and manually controlled. This photograph shows Cyril Twynham (in cap), Head Watchman who is responsible for warning the control cabin of approaching ships.
