The Big Wheel and Tower, Blackpool, Lancashire. The posters on the right are advertising a lecture to be given by Ellis Ashmead-Bartlett, war correspondent during the First World War and outspoken critic of the Gallipoli Campaign, branding it: "the most ghastly and costly fiasco in our history since the battle of Bannockburn." Having been dispatched home (in no uncertain terms) and finding himself short of money, Ashmead-Bartlett undertook a lecture tour of England and Australia in late 1915 (giving us a nice accurate date for this card).
