Suffragette Grace Roe Arrest 1914. Grace Watney Rose (1885-1979) was arrested in May 1914 when police raided the W.S.P.U's headquarters Lincoln's Inn House. Charged with conspiracy she was held in prison from 23rd May, went on hunger strike and endured forcible feeding. With the government's amnesty on the outbreak of war, she was released on 10th August 1914.
