'Bow-wow! I wonder what group she's in?!' The first of the two 'things' this postcard refers to is the Derby Armlet. In 1915, it was obvious that volunteers alone would not be enough to fill the army's needs and in the near future some form of conscription would be necessary. Men who wore the armband (it was a voluntary scheme started by Lord Derby) promised to join the Army when called upon to do so. The second aspect of the card is the cheeky connection this chap is making between his Armlet and a passing lady's garter, which bears a very similar colour and design!!
