Armistice Clearing. This is the isolated railway siding which was used for the discussions which lead to the Armistice. Talks were held here for three days commencing on Nov 8th using a railway 'salon' carriage built for Napoleon III. Hitler used the same carriage to receive the capitulation of France in 1940 and then had it destroyed so the one on display in the museum is a replica.
