Ravins des Elephants - one of the entrances into the Carriere de Cinq Piliers. Situated in the Bois de la Montagne d'Attiche the Cinq Piliers is an old quarry with some remarkable carvings including a huge sculpted Imperial eagle. Between 20th September 1914 and 20th June 1915 it was occupied by the 162th Royal Infantry de Lubeck (3rd Hanseatic), the 163rd Royal Infantry de Schleswig-Holstein, then the 12th Infantry Regiment de Landwher. In June 1917 the French occupied the quarries and also made some scupltures.
